ASSESSMENT OF THE PATIENT ON MECHANICAL VENTILATION - QUIZ QUESTIONS

The patient above, was in respiratory distress
and placed  on mechanical ventilation. It is difficult
for the patient on a ventilator to describe pain. Knowing
how to assess is very important.

Warning signs:

Warning signs of pain on mechanical ventilation include:
- agitation, tachycardia,
- elevated blood pressure,
- increased  respirations 
*There is also a need for suctioning, in order to
maintain a patent airway.
- Alarms on the ventilator are warning signs of something 
needing attention
